Here at Central Middle School, we understand how important parental involvement is in the success of our students. Because of this, we provide numerous opportunities for our parents to feel at home at our school. Below are a few of the school wide opportunities that we hope you and your children will use to make memories here at Central Middle School.
- Back to School Night : Monday, August 13th 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Back to School Night is a tradition at our school. On this night, students and parents are invited to drop off school supplies in their lockers. Locker numbers and codes were given at registration. If you do not have a number or code, please call the office before arriving. There will be a sign in sheet at your child's homeroom teacher's room. Teachers, aides, and other staff will be present. We encourage you to meet the teachers for your child's school year.
- Parent Teacher Conferences : Friday, September 18th
We know that parent teacher conferences can be somewhat intimidating. To help with this, we have developed a school-wide policy to allow student-lead parent teacher conferences. Students should be collecting work throughout the school year in which they feel they should share with their parents. To sign up for parent teacher conferences, you can sign up at back to school night, call or email your student's homeroom teacher, or call the secretaries in the office.
- Game / Movie night : Third Tuesday of the Month at 6:00 p.m.
On these nights, board games and movies are brought out to please a crowd. We find that friendly conversation and bonding time happens through interactions within a small group. Please feel free to meet in the gymnasium on the third Tuesday of the month for a game or movie night. Months that are even will be game nights and odd are movie nights.
- Canned Food Drive : Saturday, December 7th 11:00 a.m. t0 4:00 p.m.
Throughout the school year, students, teachers, and parents are welcome to bring in canned foods and other nonperishable grocery items to the school to help those throughout the month of December. For the canned food drive, we will take volunteers to help organize, bag, and distribute the food collected throughout the year. Students and parents are both invited to this meaningful day.
- Science Fair : Thursday, March 16th 3:30 to 6:30
This year is the seventh annual science fair night. Students love creating projects their peers are discussing the rest of the year. For this reason, we have decided to keep the tradition going! The science fair will take place in the gymnasium and will be open to the public. Feel free to bring family members and friends to help celebrate the creations from our scientists.
